1.) Overview
Thank you for purchasing Prize Pro: Scratch and Win Game! This manual will provide you all the information you need to set up Prize Pro and start giving away prizes on your website.

Prize Pro is a PHP program that allows websites to quickly and easily provide customized games to their visitors and easily give away prizes. The program allows full graphical customization of the games, allows administrators to quickly and easily change the settings for their games, and automatically tracks and notifies winners. Prize Pro also tracks and records the game statistics for each day the game has been played, displaying total games played that day, first time players, and number and percent of wins.

The Scratch and Win Game included with this edition of Prize Pro can be fully customized graphically. This manual will show you how you can customize the look and feel of the cards to match your website.

If you need any help installing or creating customized cards, please feel free to contact us at www.flashisland.net for help. Also look for other editions of Prize Pro to add more ways to give away prizes on your website.

2.) Instillation Instructions
Before you can install Prize Pro on your server, you must unzip the files. Please note that the flash and php files will only function on the web address that you purchased a license for. Now upload the entire 'scratch_and_win' folder onto your server, minus the 'instructions' folder.

Now you must set the file permissions for your files. File permissions tell the server what it can and can not do with the files in each folder. Go to the 'scratch_and_win' folder on your server and set the file permission to 7-7-7. Now open the 'scratch_and_win' folder and set the file permissions for all the php files and the folder 'data' to 7-7-7 as well.

To ensure that your log files are being protected, open up the 'data' folder and find the file htaccess.txt. Rename this file to ".htaccess". This will prevent people from viewing your game data.

Now you are ready to setup your game. View the file 'scratch_and_win/admin.php' in your browser. You will be asked for a username and password, so enter in the name and password you requested when you purchased the game. You should see a screen similar to the one below. If you do not see values listed for for the first four settings, then you probably forgot to change the file permissions on a file. Check to make sure they are correct.

Underneath the "Prize Pro" logo, click the Monthly Stats link. This page allows you to view the stats for every day you have the game installed. You can select the month's stats that you want to view from the drop down menu at the top of the screen. Your stats page should look similar to the one shown below. It should display 0's for all the numbers, totals, and percents. If the numbers aren't showing up, then you probably forgot to set the file permissions for one of your files or folders.

Now select the Player Log link. This page allows you to view every single player that has ever played your game. It will show you their name, e-mail address, total number of times they have won, and the date and time they last won. Your Player Log should look similar to the screenshot below before any players play your game.

Finally view the file "scratch_and_win/index.html" in your browser. This is the page that your game will be on. After entering in your name and e-mail address, you should see this screen if you haven't changed the card images.

You are now ready to configure the settings on your game!

3.) Configuring your Game Settings
To configure your game settings, view the file "scratch_and_win/admin.php" in your browser and type in your username and password. You should see the Prize Pro admin screen. This allows you to quickly and easily change all the settings on your game. Once you have made your changes, simply click the 'Change Settings' button near the bottom of the page.

This is useful if you have only a limited number of prizes and don't want to give away too many. In the rare event that you want to set your odds so no one wins, simply enter a zero.

Plays per E-mail per Day: This setting is used If you want to limit the number of times a person can play your game each day. Entering a one means that players can only play once per day per e-mail address. If you do not wish to restrict the number of plays per person, enter an impossibly large number such as 9999999.

4.) Creating Customized Cards

Prize Pro allows you to easily customize the look and feel of your Scratch and Win game by allowing you to create your own custom graphics for it. Although you are free to use the card graphics that came with the game, they can be easily changed to fit your website.

The card images are located in the "scratch_and_win/images" folder. The scratch card is acually a combination of three files, the regular unscratched card, a losing card, and a winning card. Screenshots of the original cards are shown below.

As you can see, the cards are exactly the same except for the scratch off area. Each custom card image must be 400 pixels wide and 150 pixels high. The card images must be saved as silver_card.jpg, win_card.jpg, and lose_card.jpg and they must be uploaded into the "scratch_and_win/images" folder. Make sure that everything on the cards is exactly the same except the scratch off area.
